Is Gyre a martingale or grid EA?

No. It opens one position at a time with a fixed lot, a fixed 114-pip stop and a fixed 100-pip target behind a trailing stop. There is no averaging down, no grid, no recovery trade and no lot progression. A second RSI extreme while a position is open is ignored. The maximum number of positions open at the same time, measured across the whole published record, is one.

On Exness MT5 AUD/CAD history in the MetaTrader 5 strategy tester, on the "every tick based on real ticks" model (Model 4), from 2019-01-01 to 2026-07-01 with 0.1 lot on a $10,000 balance. The tester reported the history quality of that run as 100% real ticks over 221 million ticks. All 143 closed trades are published on this page and downloadable as CSV.

Why is the win rate so high?

Because the stop is far wider than what the trailing stop banks. Winning four trades in five is what a 114-pip stop paired with a 34-pip trailing exit produces — it is a description of the shape, not evidence of an edge. The average win was 23.96 and the average loss -69.99, so it takes about three wins to pay for one loss. There were 25 losses in the record.

Does the backtest include swap?

Yes. The run recorded -146.99 of swap in total and the published net is the figure after it. All of it fell on the 66 short positions — the tested AUD/CAD history carried no swap on the long side, so the 77 buys cost nothing to carry. 120 of the 143 trades stayed open across at least one night, with a median hold of about 66 hours and a longest of 26 days. Your broker's rates will differ. Commission was zero in this run.

Why does it trade so rarely?

Both an RSI extreme on a four-hour bar and a free position slot are needed, and AUD/CAD reaches those extremes only a handful of times a year. Across the measured record it averaged about nineteen trades a year, and the rate is unusually steady — every full year in the record falls between fifteen and twenty-four.

The total profit looks small — why?

Because it trades rarely and gives most of each move back to the trailing stop. 143 trades over seven and a half years came to 1,056.95 on a $10,000 account with a maximum drawdown of -3.24%. It is one of the smaller totals in this catalogue and the shallowest drawdown of our AUD/CAD builds — the figure is published as measured rather than scaled up by a larger lot.

Does it trade at particular hours?

No. There is no time, session or day filter. Any closed H4 bar whose RSI is past the threshold can open a trade, provided no position is already open.

The EA reads RSI(12) on the previous closed H4 bar. Below 25 it is looking to buy, above 75 it is looking to sell. Because only closed bars are read, the signal cannot repaint. There is no trend filter and no volatility filter — the extreme alone is the trigger.

A single market order is sent on the next bar, at most once per closed bar. The published record is 77 buys and 66 sells. If a position is already open a new extreme is ignored entirely — the EA does not add to it, hedge it or average down.

The stop is attached when the order is sent and is never widened. It is deliberately deeper than anything the trailing stop is likely to bank, so an early, wrong-side reading has room to revert before it is cut. When it is not enough, the loss is the full 114 pips.

Once a trade is more than 34 pips ahead the stop follows 34 pips behind price. In the published record that trailing stop, not the 100-pip target, closed the large majority of winners — which is why the average win is under a quarter of the average loss.

Önemli notlar

The EA refuses to start on any timeframe other than H4 — it checks the chart period in OnInit and stops with a message. This is deliberate: the record was measured on H4 and another period silently becomes a different strategy.
The magic number shipped in the preset is unique to this EA across our catalogue. If you run several of our EAs on one account, leave those numbers as they are — two EAs sharing a magic number will each treat the other's positions as its own.
There is no spread guard in this build. A broker with a materially wider AUD/CAD spread than the tested history will erode the result rather than skip the trade.
There is no drawdown guard. Nothing halts trading after a losing run; the only protection on any single trade is its stop.

Is Gyre a martingale or grid EA?: No. It opens one position at a time with a fixed lot, a fixed 114-pip stop and a fixed 100-pip target behind a trailing stop. There is no averaging down, no grid, no recovery trade and no lot progression. A second RSI extreme while a position is open is ignored. The maximum number of positions open at the same time, measured across the whole published record, is one.
How was it tested?: On Exness MT5 AUD/CAD history in the MetaTrader 5 strategy tester, on the "every tick based on real ticks" model (Model 4), from 2019-01-01 to 2026-07-01 with 0.1 lot on a $10,000 balance. The tester reported the history quality of that run as 100% real ticks over 221 million ticks. All 143 closed trades are published on this page and downloadable as CSV.
Why is the win rate so high?: Because the stop is far wider than what the trailing stop banks. Winning four trades in five is what a 114-pip stop paired with a 34-pip trailing exit produces — it is a description of the shape, not evidence of an edge. The average win was 23.96 and the average loss -69.99, so it takes about three wins to pay for one loss. There were 25 losses in the record.
Does the backtest include swap?: Yes. The run recorded -146.99 of swap in total and the published net is the figure after it. All of it fell on the 66 short positions — the tested AUD/CAD history carried no swap on the long side, so the 77 buys cost nothing to carry. 120 of the 143 trades stayed open across at least one night, with a median hold of about 66 hours and a longest of 26 days. Your broker's rates will differ. Commission was zero in this run.
Why does it trade so rarely?: Both an RSI extreme on a four-hour bar and a free position slot are needed, and AUD/CAD reaches those extremes only a handful of times a year. Across the measured record it averaged about nineteen trades a year, and the rate is unusually steady — every full year in the record falls between fifteen and twenty-four.
The total profit looks small — why?: Because it trades rarely and gives most of each move back to the trailing stop. 143 trades over seven and a half years came to 1,056.95 on a $10,000 account with a maximum drawdown of -3.24%. It is one of the smaller totals in this catalogue and the shallowest drawdown of our AUD/CAD builds — the figure is published as measured rather than scaled up by a larger lot.
Does it trade at particular hours?: No. There is no time, session or day filter. Any closed H4 bar whose RSI is past the threshold can open a trade, provided no position is already open.
