NZD/USD on H4. Each closed four-hour bar gives the five legs one chance to read the oscillator; nothing about the time of day matters to the entry.

Stretched, measured against its own volatility

The oscillator is scaled by the recent deviation window, so 30 and 70 mean the same degree of stretch whether the market is quiet or busy. Each leg reads it over a slightly different period.

Only after it turns back

Being stretched is not enough. The reading has to start coming back by a set amount before a leg acts, which is what keeps it from buying the whole way down.

Sixty pips, every time

Every leg risks the same fixed 60 pips and holds at most one position. The EA as a whole is capped at five open positions, and it did reach that ceiling during the test.

Three legs wait for a 90 or 100 pip target or the 60 pip stop. The other two also close on the clock, so they do not carry a position indefinitely waiting for either side.

Is this a martingale or a grid?
No. Every leg sends a fixed lot, holds at most one position, and never adds to a losing trade. There is no averaging down and no grid.
How was it verified?
In the MetaTrader 5 strategy tester on real ticks (Model 4) over 2019-01-01 to 2026-07-01, with a history quality of 100%. The published backtest is the part up to 2026-04-01; everything measured after that date is shown separately as the verification window. The full trade ledger is published on this page.
Why are the two drawdown figures so different?
Because this EA holds for a median of five days. The 9.46% figure counts only closed trades; the 19.35% figure includes positions that were still open. The second number is what your account balance actually showed at the worst point, so size for that one.
Does the published record include swap?
Yes, and it was measured rather than assumed. 472 of the 1,889 deal rows carry a non-zero Swap value, all negative, totalling -$730.60. That is expected when 93% of positions cross a date change. Your broker rates will differ, so treat it as the order of magnitude.
Are the five legs really independent?
No, and that is worth knowing. They are the same volatility mean-reversion idea with different oscillator periods and two different targets. They will often be right together and wrong together - the ceiling of five open positions is what limits how much that costs.
