Is Beacon a martingale or grid EA?

No. It opens one position at a time with a fixed lot, a fixed 114-pip stop and a fixed 100-pip target. There is no averaging down, no grid, no recovery trade and no lot progression of any kind.

On Exness MT5 AUD/CAD history in the MetaTrader 5 strategy tester, on the "every tick" model generated from M1 bars, from 2019-01-01 to 2026-08-09 with 0.1 lot on a $10,000 balance. The tester reported the history quality of that run as 72% — lower than our other products, and explained in its own question below. The published backtest is the part of that run that ends at the 2026-04-01 cutoff; what the same build did after that date is shown separately as the verification window, so the two never share a trade. Every closed trade is published on this page and downloadable as CSV.

Why is the history quality 72% when other products on this site show 99-100%?

The tester's history-quality figure measures how much of the run could be modelled from the finest data available on the feed. AUD/CAD is a cross pair, and the Exness M1 history it is measured on is thinner than what the majors carry, so the tester reports 72% for this run. We publish the number exactly as the original report printed it — the report is downloadable on this page — rather than re-measuring on a different feed to show a prettier figure. It means the tick-level modelling carries more approximation than on our USD/JPY products, and you should weigh the record with that in mind.

Does the backtest include swap?

Yes. The per-deal swap from the broker's contract specification is included in the published profit figures, and the trade ledger carries it per trade.

Why is the stop wider than the target?

That is the deliberate shape of a high-win-rate reversion strategy. The trailing stop banks most winners early, wins come far more often than losses, and the wide stop gives the snap-back room to develop. The cost is that the occasional loss is bigger than a typical win — the profit factor and drawdown on this page already include those losses.

Does it trade at particular hours?

No. There is no time or session filter. A qualifying RSI extreme on any closed M15 bar can open a trade, day or night.

A single-position AUD/CAD counter-trend EA that fades RSI extremes in both directions — many small wins, a hard stop on every trade.

When the 15-minute RSI(13) sinks below 29, it buys the overshoot; when it climbs above 75, it sells it. One position at a time, a 100-pip target against a 114-pip stop, and a 34-pip trailing stop that locks in profit as the snap-back plays out.

How Beacon Trades

A mean-reversion EA that fades RSI(13) extremes on AUD/CAD M15 in both directions — buying below 29, selling above 75 — and manages one fixed-lot position at a time with a 114-pip stop, a 100-pip target and a 34-pip trailing stop.

There is no session or time filter — any closed M15 bar can qualify. What gates the EA is the oscillator itself: it only acts when RSI(13) reaches a genuine extreme, which on this cross happens a handful of times a month.

RSI(13) At An Extreme

The 15-minute RSI(13) must close below 29 (oversold) or above 75 (overbought). All readings are taken on closed bars, so the signal cannot repaint.

How it enters

Fade The Overshoot

One market order against the extreme — a buy at the ask below 29, a sell at the bid above 75 — at most one entry per closed bar, and never while another position is open.

Fixed 114-Pip Stop

A 114-pip stop-loss is attached to the order when it is sent. It is deliberately wider than the target: the strategy gives the snap-back room to develop, and accepts a larger loss on the rare occasions it never does.

Trailing Stop Or 100-Pip Target

Once a trade is 34 pips ahead, the stop starts following price at that distance in 1-pip steps — most winners are banked this way. Trades that keep running close at the fixed 100-pip target.

Is Beacon a martingale or grid EA?: No. It opens one position at a time with a fixed lot, a fixed 114-pip stop and a fixed 100-pip target. There is no averaging down, no grid, no recovery trade and no lot progression of any kind.
How was it tested?: On Exness MT5 AUD/CAD history in the MetaTrader 5 strategy tester, on the "every tick" model generated from M1 bars, from 2019-01-01 to 2026-08-09 with 0.1 lot on a $10,000 balance. The tester reported the history quality of that run as 72% — lower than our other products, and explained in its own question below. The published backtest is the part of that run that ends at the 2026-04-01 cutoff; what the same build did after that date is shown separately as the verification window, so the two never share a trade. Every closed trade is published on this page and downloadable as CSV.
Why is the history quality 72% when other products on this site show 99-100%?: The tester's history-quality figure measures how much of the run could be modelled from the finest data available on the feed. AUD/CAD is a cross pair, and the Exness M1 history it is measured on is thinner than what the majors carry, so the tester reports 72% for this run. We publish the number exactly as the original report printed it — the report is downloadable on this page — rather than re-measuring on a different feed to show a prettier figure. It means the tick-level modelling carries more approximation than on our USD/JPY products, and you should weigh the record with that in mind.
Does the backtest include swap?: Yes. The per-deal swap from the broker's contract specification is included in the published profit figures, and the trade ledger carries it per trade.
Why is the stop wider than the target?: That is the deliberate shape of a high-win-rate reversion strategy. The trailing stop banks most winners early, wins come far more often than losses, and the wide stop gives the snap-back room to develop. The cost is that the occasional loss is bigger than a typical win — the profit factor and drawdown on this page already include those losses.
Does it trade at particular hours?: No. There is no time or session filter. A qualifying RSI extreme on any closed M15 bar can open a trade, day or night.
